An unexpected treat on 11/5/11

By Greg Galli | November 16, 2011

As most of us dreading the late rice harvest, we deal with it in the best way possible. Our fields have been cut and harvested and we were waiting for water. We decided to show up early before shoot time on Saturday morning and put out a dozen FB goose decoys and the lay out blinds. To our surprise, we had water and the ponds were full of geese and ducks. I thought that now we really did it and possibly blew the whole grind out of the immediate area. With this surprise, we ended up racing out to the blind and set up the minumal decoy spread we had.

What a morning, with no expectations we killed a few geese and had a great hunt. Out of the blind by 11am - we were content with what we had.
